Concrete Stain
Acid-based chemical concrete stain is generally limited to earthy tones, such as tans, browns, terra cottas and soft blue-greens.
Water-based concrete stain come in a much broader spectrum of hues. Like acid stains, water-based stains penetrate the concrete to produce permanent color, ranging from translucent to opaque depending on the product.
FreestylePRO Concrete Stain is a revolutionary stain that penetrates and
bonds with concrete surfaces in a way that no other coloring product
can. This water-based, opaque stain is excellent for restoring,
changing colors on previously colored surfaces, or rejuvenating old,
discolored concrete.
Brickform E Concrete Stains are penetrating, reactive stains that produce unique color effects in finished cementitious surfaces that simulate the natural shadings and
aged appearance of stone or masonry. The overall color effect produced is unique
to each stained surface and cannot be duplicated with other materials.
BRICKFORM E-Stain creates a chemical reaction within the concrete
substrate. This reaction slightly etches the concrete surface to provide
deeper and more permanent color.
Where to use: Both types of stain can be applied to new or old and plain or integrally colored concrete. Concrete stain is especially effective for revitalizing dull, lackluster surfaces. Because they penetrate the concrete surface, most stains have excellent UV stability and wear resistance, permitting their use on interior or exterior concrete.
Limitations: Like stains for wood, concrete stain is semi-transparent and is intended to enhance rather than disguise the surface. Concrete stain will not hide cracks, blemishes or other flaws in existing concrete. Nor will they completely mask an underlying color or conceal the texture of the surface.
